European Diploma of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (EDAIC) – Preparation Course
The European Diploma of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (EDAIC) is a demanding, high-level examination that assesses not only factual knowledge, but also deep understanding, clinical reasoning, and safe decision-making across the full spectrum of anesthesia and intensive care practice.
This EDAIC preparation course is designed to provide a structured, exam-oriented approach to both anesthesia basic sciences and clinical anesthesia cases, fully aligned with the EDAIC syllabus and examination blueprint. The course integrates core physiological and pharmacological principles with real-world clinical scenarios, enabling candidates to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
Emphasis is placed on conceptual understanding, exam strategy, and structured answers, with a particular focus on how knowledge is tested in both written and oral components of the EDAIC examination. Clinical cases are discussed in a systematic manner, highlighting peri-operative decision-making, patient safety, and evidence-based practice.
This course is presented by Dr. Mohamed Yaseen, Lecturer of Anesthesia, Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), and Pain Management; Diplomate of the European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC); and Fellow of the College of Anaesthesiologists in Ireland (FCAI). Drawing on extensive clinical and academic experience, the course reflects a focused understanding of EDAIC expectations and examination standards.
The course is intended for anesthesia trainees and practitioners seeking to build a strong scientific foundation, refine clinical reasoning, and approach the EDAIC examination with confidence and clarity.
